ESL One: Road to Rio talent lineup announced
ESL has announced the on-air talent lineup for the first Regional Major Ranking event, ESL One: Road to Rio.
The talent who will bring you the action of the upcoming month-long Road to Rio will stay exactly the same from the recently-concluded ESL Pro League Season 11, during which two trios took turns covering the matches from ESL’s Cologne studios.
It’s unclear whether that format will remain, with Tres “stunna” Saranthus listed as a dedicated desk host, while the remaining quintet will be occupying the commentators’ post: popular duos Alex “Machine” Richardson–Henry “HenryG” Greer and Hugo Byron-Harry “JustHarry” Russell, accompanied by Chad “SPUNJ” Burchill.
ESL One: Road to Rio will as a whole run from April 22-May 17, with 56 teams playing across six regions (Europe, CIS, North America, South America, Asia, and Oceania). In all regions, a best-of-three, round-robin group stage will lead into a single-elimination playoffs bracket.
The event will offer a total of $255,000 in prizemoney and, as one of four qualifying tournaments for the ESL One Rio Major, up to 1600 points in the Regional Major Rankings.
The talent lineup for ESL One: Road to Rio looks as follows:
Tres “stunna” Saranthus – Desk host
Alex “Machine” Richardson – Commentator
Henry “HenryG” Greer – Commentator
Chad “SPUNJ” Burchill – Commentator
Harry “JustHarry” Russell – Commentator
Hugo Byron – Commentator
